Seara trecută, Kristen a fost la "Elle Style Awards", unde a fost premiată cu titlul "Woman of The Year".
Noel Clarke, who was the recipient of the Orange Rising Star Award in 2009, recently blogged about Kristen Stewart and his experience with her. He was the person who presented Kristen with her BAFTA Award as the previous Orange Rising Star Award Winner always presents it to the present year winner.
In his blog he has some very kind things to say about Kristen and addresses the nasty comments made by various critics on Kristen’s win -
People want Tahar to win, they love A Prophet (I do too, it’s a great movie). People want Carey to win (She is brilliant in An Education, if you like the film or not). People want Jesse to win (He carries Zombieland and is great in everything he does) People want Nick to win, he has a huge following, is british, possibly the best young actor full stop and is gonna go far. And of course people want Kristen to win… But the only difference with her was this… As many people who wanted her to win, there were equally vocal people who absolutely didn’t want her to win. The other nominees didn’t have that animosity against them.
I said nothing. I couldn’t. I wasn’t allowed (and as most people know Nick Hoult is like a little brother I wouldn’t minded if he won. P.S that is not why he was nominated. he is that good) So why does it all bother me? Two reasons.
Firstly: I know how that feels. Last year although loads of people wanted me to win, because my films don’t seem worthy to a lot of vocal people, there were a lot who were saying. “I don’t care who wins as long as it’s not him”.
Even after winning I still have to deal with comments like this.
“Nonetheless, she was very charming when interviewed backstage and told that previous winner Noel Clarke was ‘passing the baton on’ to her. Presumably, this baton represents starring in quite small British films that no-one outside of this soggy island has ever heard of for a relatively small fee, so I guess she has a lot to look forward to”.

New interview of Kristen Stewart on the Red Carpet prior to the BAFTA Awards. She is so humbled over everything that has happened in the last 2 years. You can tell she really is grateful!
Kristen Stewart To Be in Vogue Magazine?
According to VaLaineyMort Kristen Stewart will be on the cover of Vogue Magazine near the release of Eclipse -
My sources tell me exclusively that Stewart’s presence at London Fashion Week is no accident. Anna Wintour is there. They are meeting. Similar to how Wintour was with Rachel McAdams, they are working out the details for Stewart’s … VOGUE COVER. Should be dropping around the release of Eclipse. There was some discussion and negotiation around the interview – while Vogue is by no means as dishy as, say, Vanity Fair, they are pushing for more substance in addition to the expected style profile. And Stewart has been reluctant to open up personally. Wintour will try to dictate, Stewart will push back. The tension could lead to an awesome collaboration. Keep you posted.
One thing I will say — Lainey’s sources are usually correct!

Kristen Stewart away from the 'Twilight'
It's not all about mooning over cute vampires and werewolves.
Between the "Twilight" episodes that have made her a superstar, Kristen Stewart has been furiously tackling real-world roles in character-driven independent films.
One, "The Yellow Handkerchief," made two-and-a-half years ago before all the Bella/Edward/Jacob (and Kristen/Robert/Taylor) hysteria commenced, finally hits theaters today - in no small part because of the now 19-year-old actress' massive name recognition.
In March we'll get "The Runaways," the story of L.A.'s all-girl proto-punk band in which Stewart plays Joan Jett to Dakota Fanning's Cherie Currie.
And the Sundance Film Festival was just wowed by another small-scale drama, "Welcome to the Rileys," featuring Stewart as an underage prostitute who bonds with a couple grieving the loss of their own daughter.
Sounds like she's trying to establish some gritty indie cred to compensate for the ridiculous success of the overwrought horror romances? Not according to how Stewart sees it.
"It's really important for me to make movies that make me feel like `The Yellow Handkerchief' made me feel," says Stewart, sounding self-assured and far less daunted by her exploding popularity than a lot of media speculation would have us think. "And `Twilight' did the same. I mean, it turned out to be this huge thing, but that's not something that you knew going in was going to happen.
"So I'm not choosing roles to Advertisement
try to 'break out.' I make what I'm comfortable with, and if I like it."
In the very low-key "Handkerchief," Stewart plays another variation of the troubled teenager to whom she's so often drawn. Martine is a small-town Louisiana girl who, after a bad scene with a popular local boy, agrees to go for a ride across the river with an irritating but ardent young drifter (English actor Eddie Redmayne). Mainly for protection, she invites a seemingly kind but mysterious older man (William Hurt) who is also passing through town to ride along with them.
The odd trio gradually makes a road trip through the hurricane-battered state down to the Gulf, where Hurt's Brett may or may not find a last chance to get his life in order and the rudderless kids may discover direction for theirs.
"I could relate to Martine in that she's so, sort of, the typical girl that really wants to be out there and smiling and totally in the middle of whatever's going on, but has been embarrassed one too many times and has gone, `I can't do that anymore,"' Stewart observes. "I also feel like she's isolated herself by putting herself above everyone else. She can't talk to people because they've let her down too many times. She realizes, through this journey, to open her eyes and look at people."
Though she says she relates, it's hard to imagine Stewart ever being shamed into giving up. Sure, she suffered rejection like any child actor does. She was infamously blackballed from Disney Channel shows for being too naturally defiant, but she also co-starred with Jodie Foster in her first big movie, "Panic Room," by the time she was 11.
A Valley girl and proud of it, Stewart credits her professionalism and perseverance to a good upbringing by her Woodland Hills-based parents, a television producer dad and script supervisor mom.
"It was wonderful when I went to Kristen's folks' place to see a real home that is, like, one generation nurturing another," co-star Redmayne marvels, as if such phenomena couldn't occur in superficial L.A.
Even when she was a kid, the actress always had a noticeable depth, if not the confidence she displays now.
"Kristen was so nervous the first time she auditioned," recalls "Handkerchief" director Udayan Prasad. "She wasn't even 17 when I met her. But there was something very focused about her, very centered.
"She knew herself in a way which was actually quite intimidating. She was this young girl who was so sure of life in a way that I still don't think I'm sure of life."
That tension between determination and fragility is amply displayed in "The Runaways," which the actress views as a tribute to another young L.A. woman who didn't have half the advantages Stewart enjoyed coming up in show business.
"I don't think that the Runaways are something that a whole lot of people know about, but I think that everybody knows who Joan Jett is," Stewart reckons. "But it was really, really hard to become that icon. I don't know, she's like a pilgrim. She was the first woman to ever start a record label, but even before that, because it was the '70s, nobody wanted to see a girl be that strong and play electric guitar and play it that loud.
"People should know where that came from. I've grown up feeling very entitled, like I can do whatever I want. But she didn't have that."
Jett was a producer of "The Runaways" film and was on set every day.
"It was initially intimidating, just meeting her," Stewart admits.
"Then I subsequently realized that I would feel like such a fraud if she wasn't there. How would I have known any details without her? I just would have felt like I was doing an impression with black hair.
"I didn't want to just mimic her, I wanted to understand what she was going through."
And that was quite a lot, according to the movie: sexual and pharmaceutical experimentation; fights within the band, with its handlers and rowdy audiences; finding, maintaining and making a going concern of her own artistic voice.
In her role as Jett the pioneering rocker, Stewart is a long way from chastely obsessing over the sensitive bloodsucker and the hunky wolfboy. But "Twilight" fans needn't worry.
As much as her creative drives keep pushing her toward increasingly challenging roles, Stewart is committed to seeing the fantasy franchise through to the end.
The third movie in the series, "Eclipse," comes out this summer.
Production begins in the fall on the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's fourth and final "Twilight" novel, "Breaking Dawn," most likely as two separate films, although Stewart says she hasn't been definitively informed that that's going to happen yet.
"The story so completely warrants two films," she says like the most avid adolescent Twihard. "It would be really disappointing to have to lose this scene and this sequence and this scene and this sequence. I, personally, would like to do it as two movies. But to be perfectly honest, I don't know what they're going to do."
The actress is equally in the dark about whether or not her legion of fans will grow to follow her down the more mature path she's blazing in her other work. If you think that's going to stop Stewart from continuing to explore, you haven't learned anything about her.
"I don't have this scheme of how people are going to receive my movies in the order that I do them," she says. "Or why I do scary movies and why I do movies about disaffected teens all the time. They're just people that I really wanted to play. I don't know what the hell I'm doing; I'm just playing parts that speak to me."

Thank Goodness for K-Stew How Twilight fandom has helped the state of independent cinema.
Jen Yamato, Feb 26, 2010
In a world where independent films have diminishing opportunities to be seen -- even those "Hollywood" indies, with their "modest" $10 million budgets and A-list stars -- thank goodness for Twilight. Sure, some may lambaste the sparkly vampire property for its swooning treatment of the traditionally dark and dangerous vampire mythos, or claim that the franchise only exists to fuel teenybopper fantasies with tepid, moony-eyed romance. But while you can hate the $670 million+ film franchise (counting theatrical and DVD returns for Twilight and its yet-to-be-released on DVD sequel, New Moon) for a number of reasons, there's no denying the megabucks. Because behind the megabucks is a rabid fan base, and that fan base has trickled down to benefit a worthy cause: indie film.
There's logic behind that thinking, I assure you. For example: How many teen girls would have films like The Cake Eaters and this week's The Yellow Handkerchief on their radar if 19-year-old Kristen Stewart hadn't been their Bella Swan? Or cared enough about the Sundance entries Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways to post and retweet their production stills and trailers up and down Twitter? Like it or not, the single best side effect of the enormity that is the Twilight phenomenon is that the intangible, teen idolizing force that transformed Kristen Stewart into KStew (and Robert Pattinson into RPattz) and has spilled over into small-scale cinema, bringing the power of its youthful, enthusiastic fan following with it.
Stewart was no stranger to acting by the time she became "KStew" (which I'll define as the celebrity entity powered by the squeals of millions of Twilighters around the world), having acted in films big and small since her debut in 2002's Panic Room. Even around the time her name began being used in conjunction with Stephenie Meyer's vampire romance, she'd had roles in a number of recent major studio films and high profile indies including The Messengers, Into the Wild, and In the Land of Women -- films nevertheless known more for their genres or Stewart's better-known cast mates. Enter Twilight. Once the massive hit turned Stewart into a household name, a handful of smaller independent films she'd done prior to Twilight benefited exponentially.
One of those smaller films was the ensemble drama The Cake Eaters, directed by actress Mary Stuart Masterson. After making the rounds on the film festival circuit and debuting in limited release in March of 2009, the film found a loyal fan following once the Twilight audience latched on. Stewart, who plays a terminally ill girl in the multi-strand story, adorns the film's promo art. On the film's official blog, fans are encouraged to send in photos of themselves "reshuffling" The Cake Eaters DVDs at their local stores so that the DVDs dominate the shelves. Look closely and see that along with The Cake Eaters DVDs, these mostly young women are also "reshuffling" copies of Twilight DVDs to the front of the stack. Coincidence?
Likewise, KStew fans have a chance this week to come out in droves to support her latest small non-Twilight film, The Yellow Handkerchief. Shot in February of 2007, before she was even cast in Twilight, The Yellow Handkerchief debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and nabbed distribution last year courtesy of Samuel Goldwyn Films. It will finally reach theaters this week in limited release, although if box office booms enough it could expand to other cities. And with its teen-friendly PG-13 rating, success could be within reach.
However, ratings could prevent other upcoming Stewart films from capitalizing on her star power. Flora Sigismondi's The Runaways, the rock biopic of the titular '70s girl rockers, is rated R for "language, drug use, and sexual content -- all involving teens," which will hinder the younger ranks of the Twilight set from attending. Shame, especially considering that The Runaways has twice the Twilight power given it stars not only Stewart as Joan Jett, but also her New Moon co-star Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie. Still, the older Twilight audience will undoubtedly come out in support of the film -- but then, weren't they the key demographic after all? Also uncertain is the indie drama Welcome to the Rileys, which debuted at Sundance this year. Though it hasn't yet earned a film rating, the subject matter may prove just as mature as The Runaways, with Stewart playing a 16-year-old prostitute in a performance that USA Today's Anthony Breznican called "shockingly sexual."
Prognosticators might look to the extra-Twilight career of Stewart's co-star Robert Pattinson for hints. His star wattage may have gotten pre-Twilight projects like How to Be more attention (his 2006 BBC feature The Haunted Airman earned a Region 1 DVD release last year), but his daring turn as Salvador Dali in 2009's Little Ashes disappointed at the box office, earning a total of $650,000 worldwide. Was it the gay theme that deterred RPattz fans, the mixed reviews, the fact that it only played in as many as 16 theaters, or the R rating that prevented more fans from buying tickets in droves? (And didn't they know about his nude scene??)
Pattinson's career is unlikely to repeat that box-office misstep; his next film, the romantic drama Remember Me, is rated PG-13. (It's also being cleverly marketed by Summit Entertainment in conjunction with his June sequel, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.) After that he's doing Bel Ami with Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman, Unbound Captives with Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman, and the Fox adaptation of Water for Elephants, sending him well on his path toward starring in major studio releases and "big" indie films in the very least.
In the meantime, we'll see how much KStew's KStewiness benefits The Yellow Handkerchief when it opens this week, as well as her future projects like March's The Runaways. Will the filmmakers behind those movies be saying, "Thank goodness for KStew!" when it's time to count ticket sales?

The Twilight franchise has transformed talented and charismatic ingénue Kristen Stewart into a bankable Hollywood commodity, but don’t expect the actress to completely cash in on her success. For the past two years, Stewart has used her Twilight success to star and promote such independent films as The Cake Eaters, Adventureland, and the new film The Yellow Handkerchief, and The Runaways. The actress elaborates on how Tinseltown’s producers are jumping on the Kristen Stewart bandwagon.

I'm starting to dislike films that sell themselves with the tagline: "Love is where you least expect it." Isn't it about time we retire that line? Yellow Handkerchief arrives as yet another indie road flick featuring characters very different from one another on the outside, but similar on the inside. It's pretty to watch (thanks to great camerawork from Chris Menges), but the film never really soars above "That was a nice moment," and into must-see territory. However, superb performances from the four leads lend Handkerchief enough charm to leave those watching with a smile ... and an odd desire to visit Louisiana.
William Hurt stars as an ex-con named Brett, who, after six years in prison, stumbles back out into the world with a sense of purpose. Soon after his release, Brett winds up hitching a ride with Gordy (Eddie Redmayne), a kind-of-slow outcast heading down to New Orleans. Joining the men, after watching last night's fling hook up with another girl, is Martine (Kristen Stewart) -- a fidgety gal with massive father figure issues. Because of her sour relationship with Pops, Martine desperately attempts to latch onto men who show the slightest interest, and when Gordy fires up a conversation with her, it's enough for Martine to forget about the last guy and jump into a convertible with the next one. Thus, our three strangers head out for a ride to escape their problems -- and jaded pasts -- but ultimately wind up banding together to confront the purple elephant in the corner and wash away their damaged souls.
While Gordy and Martine are fascinating (yet familiar) characters to watch, the real story centers on Brett. Why was he in prison? What is he running from? Who is he running from? Through well-shot and well-placed flashbacks, we learn Brett was romantically involved with a woman (Maria Bello) who may or may not have something to do with his prison time. Needless to say, by the time the flashbacks work up to the present, we're presented with one pretty good reveal and an ending that's a tad too forced, but warm and welcoming at the same time.
Hurt is excellent in his role, and he's what really gives this film a good go at "above mediocre." His ex-con is one that's bitter, quiet and respectful -- but you wouldn't want to cross him in any way, shape or form. He takes the kids under his wing, acting as the father figure neither has -- while they take the place of the children Brett wanted, but didn't get. And this entire story plays out while the three meander through Louisiana, though we never know where they are in relation to where they started, nor do we know where they're heading. A clear and distinct target -- something to help out those of us not familiar with Louisiana -- might have helped reign in the story's loose ends a bit. Additionally, not enough time is spent on fleshing out Martine and Gordy, the latter of which really deserves his own film (he reminded me of a Forest Gump-type kid who finds himself in one adventure after the next).
Yellow Handkerchief marks director Udayan Prasad's first American film, and he definitely proves enough skill to continue churning out the English-language fare. Then again, he's given some tremendous help in Menges' camerawork. From the lush landscapes of Louisiana to post-Katrina disaster to the urban jungle, the locations change as our characters grow. The film would've benefited from a leaner script and more concrete goals, and as it stands, Yellow Handkerchief is just another quiet character piece that may make its way to theaters in limited release, but won't cause any waves.
Rock ‘N Roll- Runaway Style
“This is a man’s world,” James Brown’s song lyrics, blare as the young Joan Jett runs from guitar lessons with a misogynistic teacher who laughingly dismisses her attempts to learn the electric guitar. The plot of “The Runaways” couldn’t be more self explanatory- it’s the story of the band “The Runaways” who are famous for tearing down the barriers of rock ‘n roll in the ’70s with their breakout all-girl band. including the legendary Joan Jett and lead singer Cherie Currie. They know how to rock and they’re not afraid to take some abuse to make it.
The infamous Joan Jett is played, with surprising believability, by the “Twilight” queen herself, Kristen Stewart. Starring in two movies at Sundance 2010, including this film and another where she plays a teenage stripper, Stewart is starting to show she can hold her own on-screen. Coached by Jett herself throughout the filming, Stewart gets the nuances and look of Jett down in such a way that it is a believable younger version of the rocker, complete with her semi-hunched shoulders, and jet-black shaggy hair. Cherie Currie is played with equal passion by the all-grown-up Dakota Fanning who appears on-screen with Stewart for a second time (Fanning also briefly stars in “Twilight: New Moon”). The rest of “The Runaways” are somewhat forgettable, as the film focuses in on Jett and Currie as the centerpieces of the band, and the story itself.
As a young teen, Jett’s passion develops to play music and start a band, and she eventually approaches legendary producer/songwriter/musician Kim Fowley. Fowley sees the potential in an all-girl band at that time, and he subsequently helps put together “The Runaways” and manages them. Fowley puts the girls through the ringer, doing everything from hardening their sound, to prepping their stage presence as he has garbage literally thrown at them in rehearsal. The scenes with Fowley are comical, and you see his ingenious insight into the potential of “The Runaways,” as he writes their hit song “Cherry Bomb” with virtual ease. Although Fowley is harsh with the group, this almost comes across as forgivable, after all, the music industry and lifestyle aren’t forgiving- especially to a group of teenage girls in the ’70s.
However, the true story of the group’s trials and tribulations with Fowley appear to be more serious with accusations of physical and sexual abuse through his time managing the group, and this is never delved into in the film.
It seems “The Runaways” is rock ‘n roll cliché ridden, but that is probably attributed to the amount of times these stories have been told on screen. The real difference is the clichés are true; it’s the ’70s and for a bunch of teen girls wrecking hotel rooms, being sexually experimental and open, and indulging in drugs was out-there in the heyday of rock and punk music. Writer/Director Floria Sigismondi carries out the scenes which depict the drugs, destruction and deviousness of the girls with more flavor, keeping true to the sequence of events which happened in their lives. Sigismondi has a background in music videos, and this is apparent with the glossy look of the film that captures the essence of the time period and what the effects of rock music were on that generation.
What seems lacking overall is the meat of the story; the history of who “The Runaways” toured and hung out with (Cheap Trick, Blondie, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, etc.) is omitted, and there surely were stories that could have been included in the film which would have steeped the film more historically and been interesting considering these bands were all significant in their own rite. Another element which was lacking, were the family life/backgrounds for the members of “The Runaways” which was not touched upon at all (with the exception of Currie). Without much of this setup and framework included, the film seems a little hollow at times when it could have had more punch.
It’s hard to tell if the teen generation now can put into perspective just how groundbreaking “The Runaways” were, paving the way for girl rock/pop groups in the ’80s all the way up until all girl pop punk/rock bands like “The Donnas.” In the days before punk rock and rock ‘n roll became politically-correct, vegetarian, non-controversial pop music, it was just a bunch of screwed up kids getting their frustrations out with raw and dirty music- a time when the band “The Runaways” did have a chance to “change the world,” by unleashing something it had never seen before. This film captures the time period when rock and punk were exploding on the world and changing the landscape of music, and is a small glimpse into the origins of one important band of the time.

eu sunt la chimie la palatul copiilor si nici aici nu se vede...poate ca nu sunt browserele bune :-?? _____________ Kristen Stewart distribuita in “Backwoods”
